PATCHES

The Outlaw patch was designed by 1LT Bob Bergquist
almost immediately after the Outlaws arrived in Vietnam as
was the Maverick emblem with other's input on the Maverick patch.
Al Iller has been attempting to contact
Bergquist for nearly a year with no success.  Recently, while talking
with another Outlaw, Frank Estes, we found out that Bob died in
April, 1983 of a massive heart attack.

This patch was provided to me by Mr. Tom Mullen who served with the
155th Assault Helicopter Company at Ban Me Thuot,
South Viet Nam and is the founder of the
155th Assault Helicopter Company Association.
Thanks!! Tom . . .
Tom says a coworker of his gave him the patch and he then
contacted me and offered it for inclusion in my 175th AHC
collection, August, 2002.
I have no personal knowledge regards the history of the patch
and would appreciate information.  I believe it to be associated
with the Bushwhackers.  If you have information on either the patch or
the Cobra operations at Vinh Long please contact me.

Fort Hood, 1990-1991
and
1992-95
Deployed with the unit to Kuwait
The Outlaws provided the aircraft used
by the government personnel at
Waco, Texas.
Hopefully, there will be additional information
added on this subject soon.

Dan McClinton is currently working on an update to the Outlaw history
and the information will be posted as soon as it is completed.

The current patch of the Outlaws as kindly provided
by
CW2 Dana Dreeke
proudly serving with the Outlaws
at Fort Hood, Texas.
He tells me there is a move afoot to restore the unit numerical
designation back to the 175th.
Mr. Dreeke is very interested in Outlaw History
and is seeking items to include in the unit's
Wall Of Fame.
If you have an item to contribute please
contact me and I will put you in touch
with Dana.

Mr. Dan McClinton also made and contributed
the nose art.
